Ose basket | medium
A modern take on the traditional ose/hen basket. Created using frame basketry techniques, in which the willow rods are woven around hoops, with ribs added for support.
These baskets were traditionally used for many purposes, including carrying broody hens to neighbouring farms. Popular in the 50s and 60s, these baskets have had many uses and names, and are even believed to have Celtic origins.
